Here are 3 easy time management strategies for you or your loved one with ADHD. I’m Kyle Kittleson. This is your MedCircle Weekly News.

According to additudemag.com, “good time management isn’t about choosing a magic app - it’s about understanding ADHD behaviors.” Here are 3 highly effective time management tips for someone with ADHD.

  1. Learn how and when to say NO. Let’s say your boss asks you to add a task to your workload. A symptom of ADHD is “impulsivity” so you might be tempted to impulsively respond YES without thinking it through. It’s okay to say “I’ll get back to you” and give yourself time to think about it.
  2. Set a timer. Hyperfocus can lead you to lose track of time, which of course can cause you to miss other engagements or leave other tasks incomplete. Setting a timer is an easy way to remedy this.
  3. If you’re in the middle of something, don’t allow interruptions. It can be difficult enough to regulate internal distractions - so do what you can to minimize external ones! This will allow you to be more efficient and stay focused. Once you’re better at re-directing your focus, you can operate on a more open-door policy.

And NEXT on the list should be checking out our Navigating the Ambiguity of ADHD series with Dr. Domenick Sportelli.

I’m Kyle Kittleson, and remember - whatever you’re going through - you got this.
