According to a recent study, more people have died or been injured in mass school shootings in the United States in the past 18 years than in the entire 20th century. Additionally, an overwhelming majority of 21st-century shooters were adolescents. With this alarming trend in mind, it's more important than ever to help kids at risk for violence.
Licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Seth Meyers has served as a consultant on the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health's School Threat Assessment Response Team for years. He sat down with MedCircle to discuss how parents can spot the signs of children at risk for violence. He also breaks down the psychological profile of the potential school shooter, and of an adult shooter.
