Most U.S. Babies Are Starting Solid Food Too Early

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends introducing babies to solid foods at about 6 months of age. In the U.S., however, more than half of infants are fed solids before the recommended age, according to a study published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. In the study, researchers examined survey data that included information for about 1,500 infants and toddlers.
