Association between chronic pancreatitis and urolithiasis: A population-based cohort study

In this study, the prevalence of CP was higher in men (81.9%) and in patients younger than 49 years (63.5%; mean age: 48.5 ± 15.3 years). Additionally, alcohol-related illness was the most common comorbidity in patients with CP. These findings reflect the possibility of alcohol consumption being the main cause of CP in our cohort, although data on lifestyle and dietary habits were unavailable in our database.
